Busey is proud to support the Handles of Hope Golf Outing. Their mission is to relieve the heartache of foster kids, the homeless and others in need. Handles of Hope will collect hygiene products, blankets and coping skill items on the day of the event. Items may also be dropped off before the event.

Golf entry fee of $65 per player includes lunch at registration (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), 12 holes of golf with cart, goodie bags, 50/50, raffle, games, drink specials, and cash prizes to winning teams. Dinner to follow includes a hamburger bar, baked beans, cole slaw and desserts.

Busey will welcome donations for the Hearts and Homes for Veterans, Inc., a Florida nonprofit corporation. Its purpose is to support homeless veterans, and their families, who find themselves without the necessities of everyday life. Hearts and Homes for Veterans is committed to empowering these veterans to lift themselves out of poverty and then, in turn, reach back and help other veterans do the same. The Decatur Park District, partnering with the City of Decatur, Decatur Police Department, and Macon County Sheriff’s Office combine the Lantern Parade with the annual National Night Out! Enjoy a picnic, Scovill Petting Zoo, a DJ, games, inflatables, and a lantern parade around the park. Children make lanterns in their neighborhood parks during the last week of July. Lanterns may also be created the evening of the parade from 5 – 6 p.m.

The National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Busey is proud to sponsor this event. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

Loaves & Fishes Community Services will host its fourth Night to End Hunger. More than 300 guests will gather to raise funds in support of those who seek relief from hunger and poverty. Loaves & Fishes is honored to welcome ABC7’s Judy Hsu back to serve as emcee for the evening. Judy is a multiple Emmy Award winner and will anchor both the 4pm and 6pm newscasts for ABC7 Chicago.

St. Jude Runs is one of the country's foremost charity running events. Participants raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and run relay-style from Washington to Peoria, IL, home of the Jim and Trudy Maloof St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic.

St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Put on by Illinois Valley Striders, the Bridge to Bridge 4 mile race has become one of the more popular events in the area. The run starts on Water Street, outside Running Central and goes over the Bob Michel Bridge, tours the Downtown East Peoria Levee District, and then returns to Peoria over the Cedar Street Bridge. It continues through the Peoria Warehouse Downtown district until finishing back in front of Running Central.
