I had an interesting journey realizing my current career path. My passion has always been drag racing, and I thought I wanted to get into Motorsports Marketing. I even went on a job shadow with a professional race team. But I found that I didn’t want to mix my favorite hobby with my career. I didn’t want to take the fun out of it or get burnt out.

So, I decided to study Business Administration at the University of Missouri with an emphasis in Finance and Banking, and that was my major through my junior year. However, after applying to internships I accepted a marketing internship with the St. Louis Cardinals, had a blast and decided to change my emphasis over to Marketing.

Shortly through my senior year, I changed my mind yet again. I had always known of Busey, as my mom and I both banked there, and I realized I wanted to be closer to home. After speaking with Busey representatives at the Mizzou career fair, I felt extremely excited and eager to apply to the Commercial Banking Leadership Development Program. I felt it was the perfect role for me where I could use both my finance and marketing skills. Now, after a year in the program I couldn't be happier with my current role and decision to enter the banking industry. I highly recommend the program!
