Busey associate portrait"During my freshman year of college, I wasn’t comfortable at my first-choice school and ended up transferring. Initially, I fell in love with my first school’s reputation, but when I got there, I realized it wasn’t the right place for me. Because I was on the baseball team, it was hard to switch, and I didn’t have a back-up plan for playing elsewhere. My future seemed uncertain, and I didn’t know if I would play baseball again. I was fortunate that another junior college allowed me to play baseball. I immediately felt more comfortable, and in turn, did better in my classes and played better on the field. Switching schools was one of best decisions of my life, and it provided me with so many opportunities for which I’m thankful.”
