Volunteer Spotlight Featuring Justin O’Hara

April 2023 BUSEY'S VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Justin O’Hara

Living the Busey promise in his community, Justin O’Hara, Commercial Relationship Manager, is being recognized as Busey’s Volunteer of the Month.

Justin dedicated his volunteer time this Community Promise Month by taking on new opportunities presented to him and quicklyJustin O'Hara overcoming challenges. When asked to take over as the head coach of his daughter’s lacrosse team at Bishop Verot Catholic High School with a few weeks left in the season, he jumped at the opportunity. The team had experienced an 8-game losing streak before he took over, but Justin was able to build the team back up and win the Class 1A District 11 Championship Game. Over the past 10 years, Justin has also coached for the girls’ and boys’ lacrosse team at Diocese of Venice, SFX Catholic High School.

Justin believes coaching lacrosse is not only about bettering their lacrosse skills but helping them become a better person as well. Empowering young women while teaching them about leadership, accountability, self-worth and confidence is why Justin serves. Although a fairly new member of his community, Justin’s involvement at Bishop Verot has helped him become a more productive member and meet so many amazing people. “I am so grateful to work for Busey, an organization that not only promotes volunteerism, but also encourages and supports it.”

Congratulations, Justin!
