CARES Act Payments: FAQs

Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, one-time, tax-free government payments to eligible Americans are being distributed as part of its $2.2 trillion relief package. The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced disbursements started April 15 and will be sent in batches until complete. If you do not receive your payment immediately but believe you qualify, it should be on its way in the coming weeks.

The banking industry is working closely with the Treasury Department to help individuals receive those payments quickly, securely and safely during this challenging time. The Internal Revenue Service and Treasury together are responsible for eligibility, disbursement amounts and the distribution timeline. Please note, your payment will be posted to your Busey account as it is received.
