Volunteer Spotlight Featuring Luisa Gomez

March 2024 BUSEY'S VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Luisa Gomez

Living the Busey promise in her community, Luisa Gomez, VP – Community Banking Development Manager, is being recognized as Busey’s Volunteer of the Month.

Luisa has a large presence in her community consistently giving back through her role at Busey along with her personal passions. Luisa knows the importance of financial literacy, and she continues to share this knowledge through a variety of different organizations such as with students at Manual High School, StepUp, and Peoria Youth Build. Whether she is helping students open checking and savings accounts to help prepare for their next stage of life, providing youth access to services as they begin to transition into adulthood, or providing financial literacy to incarcerated work-release program participants, Luisa continues to share her knowledge passionately.

Luisa holds various board positions as well, including ExtraOrdinary Women, an organization known for recognizing women in the community doing extraordinary work who are not always recognized publicly, and Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc. Within this organization, she gives back through the Bloomington/Normal NPHC helping with monthly food banks and the Annual Youth Symposium. Thank you, Luisa, for encompassing what it means to serve with passion!

“During my time here at Busey I am able to truly engage the communities I serve. By having the heart of a servant and being an advocate, I am able to give back representing Busey and my home community, Bloomington, Illinois.”

Congratulations Luisa!
