2023 Volunteer of the Year
Elizabeth Malko | VP – Financial Crimes Systems and Analytics Manager
Busey is proud to announce Elizabeth Malko, VP – Financial Crimes Systems and Analytics Manager, as our 2023 Volunteer of the Year. Living the Busey promise in her community, Liz completed over 326 hours of service in 2023.Liz has dedicated her time and talents teaching valuable lessons such as effective communication, conflict resolution, leadership, accountability, confidence, respect and teamwork through the sport of fastpitch softball.
Serving as a Whitnall Youth softball coach and managing various youth fastpitch recreational and travel softball teams over the years has been an amazing experience for Liz. Angelica Korzeniowski, AVP – Financial Crimes Systems and Analytics Officer, spoke in regard to Liz being recognized as Busey’s Volunteer of the Year:
“Liz always does her best to help others. Just this past year, she spent a great amount of time coaching a girls softball team and mentoring the players. She is always a kind and generous person, and I’m so happy she’s being recognized for all her efforts to help the community.”
Liz grew up playing fastpitch softball throughout college, so being able to share her passion and knowledge with a group of athletes who have the same love for fastpitch softball has been incredibly fulfilling. Joel Ramos, EVP – Chief Compliance Officer, even shared that Liz’s volunteer work has inspired him, and he is now coaching youth softball in his spare time as well!
As the Volunteer of the Year, Elizabeth will receive a $1,000 donation on behalf of Busey to present to an organization of her choosing.
