Best Banks to Work For: A Decade of Recognition

 

Busey is honored to be named among the Best Banks to Work For by American Banker magazine and Best Companies Group since 2016. The program—which was established in 2013—identifies, recognizes and honors the best banks to work for in the nation. Busey is among only four banks holding between $15 and $20 billion in assets and one of only four headquartered in Illinois to make the list.

To determine the Best Banks to Work For, organizations were nominated in a two-part process. First, banks were evaluated on their workplace policies, practices and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure their experience in eight different categories, including communication, happiness and role and relationship with supervisors.

• Among the winning banks, an average of 92% of employees said they have confidence in the leadership of their organization, while an average of 95% of employees said they like the people they work with. At the banks that applied but didn't make the list, these figures were 80% and 90%, respectively.

• An average of 89% of employees at winning banks said they feel like they can trust what their employer tells them, compared with 75% at banks that didn't make the cut.

• An average of 76% of employees at winning banks said they think they are paid fairly for the work they do, compared with 63% who feel the same way at the nonwinning banks.

Earlier this year, Busey was named among the Best Places to Work in Illinois by the Daily Herald Business Ledger and Workforce Research Group, Best Places to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Workforce Research Group and Best Companies to Work For in Florida by Florida Trend magazine and Workforce Research Group.
