Busey Associates Named to "Forty Under 40" Lists | 2022
Our associates are true examples of what makes Busey an organization unlike any other. We’re proud to announce three of our associates have been named among the Forty Under 40 honorees by Central Illinois Business magazine and another has been honored as one of this year’s 40 Leaders Under Forty by Peoria Magazine.
Associates were nominated by their peers and/or community and selected by a panel of judges based on achievements, experiences, innovations, leadership and community involvement. Please join us in congratulating Angela Balcor, Randi Potter, Andy Shaw and Tim Spears on these deserved recognitions.
Angela Balcor
Angela Balcor, Vice President – Director of Marketing, is selflessly devoted not only to her team, but to building a seamless end-to-end experience for all Busey’s customers. Her ability to foster innovation and elevate the performance of those around her allows Busey to continually grow and improve its product offerings to the communities we serve. Since joining Busey in 2020, Angela has flawlessly merged her professional responsibilities with her passion for helping those around her. She serves on the board of various non-profits like the Center for Human Enterprise Solutions (CHES), a women-led non-profit consulting firm dedicated to advancing the work of human service organizations serving people in rural and urban communities. Currently, she also dedicates her time to the Urbana Neighborhood Connection as a board member and active volunteer. This vital organization impacts more than 50 K-12 students in Urbana Public School District #116. She also uses her talents to support additional non-profits, including Urbana Champaign Independent Media Center (UCIMC).

Randi Potter
Randi Potter, Senior Vice President - Director of Technology and Business Systems, has demonstrated a solid commitment to moving the organization forward with innovative ideas and transformational leadership skills since joining Busey in 2012. With her passion for helping others, she is a proven problem solver who drives change and is readily available to assist her team members to achieve their career objectives. As a leader and mentor in her field, Randi recognizes the need to develop support programs encouraging women to seek opportunities within the technology industry. In March 2022, Busey was proud to highlight Randi as one of our female leaders during Women’s History Month. She knows the value of building a strong support system for women within the field while creating transparency around opportunities—showing them that not all positions require a technology or programming background.

Andy Shaw
Andy Shaw, Vice President - Director of Corporate Insights and Information, is both highly respected and admired by those who know him best. Personally and professionally, Andy encourages others with his humility, team-based approach, positive attitude and commitment to the people around him. He has taken part in various charitable activities and organizations in the community over the years. Originally from Rockford, IL, the surrounding communities have always been his home and he has volunteered with local organizations, including Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County and the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon, in different capacities. Earlier this year, he was among the Busey associates who came together to pack hygiene kits for homeless shelters. The kits—which contained socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, face masks and more—were donated to various shelters, such as C-U at Home, for local distribution. In July 2022, Andy volunteered at Urbana Neighborhood Connection—giving of his time and talents to build a neighborhood garden for the children’s day camp program.

Tim Spears
Tim Spears, Officer – Commercial Portfolio Manager, is a personification of Busey’s core values. Since joining the organization in 2021, he has found a niche as a trusted, highly respected and sought-after business partner—connecting him with customers and associates alike. A native of Peoria, he is committed to giving back and works with organizations like the Itoo Society and the city of Peoria. Tim also serves on the Peoria Area Performing Arts Studio Board of Directors, lending his time and talents to support arts and entertainment opportunities for local students.
