Busey Named to DiversityInc list

Busey is honored to have earned a spot on the 2023 DiversityInc Top Regional Companies list. This is a first-time recognition for Busey, which remains committed to attracting and retaining talent across a variety of backgrounds.

“Since Busey first opened our doors in 1868, our focus has been on doing good. We make a difference for our Pillars. We lead our communities. We make a positive impact,” said Van Dukeman, President, Chairman & CEO of First Busey Corporation and President & CEO of Busey Bank. “Together, we foster a people-first culture and empower associates to be their best—at and outside of work.”

Since 2001, the DiversityInc Top 50 survey has been the external validator for large U.S. employers that model fairness in their talent strategy, workplace and supplier diversity practices and philanthropic engagement. One hundred and fifty-seven employers, with roughly 8.3 million U.S employees, submitted Leadership Accountability, Human Capital Diversity Metrics, Talent Programs, Workplace Practices, Supplier Diversity and Philanthropy data and earned a spot on one of the following lists: Top Regional Companies, Hall of Fame Consortium, Top 50 Companies, Top Hospitals and Health Systems, Top Utilities and Noteworthy Companies.

“With a 23% increase in overall participation, these rankings are based on employer-submitted data about their organizational policies, practices and procedures,” said Carolynn Johnson, CEO of DiversityInc. “Further, these rankings also represent evidence-based, superior human capital outcomes, only achieved by data transparency and an unwavering commitment to workplace fairness for everyone.”

DiversityInc’s mission is to educate the workforce and bring clarity to the business benefits of workplace fairness, equity and inclusion. They have evolved as the preeminent source of human capital data, education and advice.
