Volunteer Spotlight Featuring Eric Roberts

March 2025 BUSEY'S VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Eric Roberts

Living the Busey promise in his community, Eric Roberts, AVP – Farm Manager, is being recognized as Busey’s Volunteer of the Month.

Eric has been a part of the Rossville Area Fire Protection District since its inception in 1993. Serving as a volunteer trustee for 32 years and as the treasurer of the trustee board for 30 years, Eric's dedication to his community is unwavering. His most significant achievement has been overseeing the construction of a new fire station, which includes a large community room that doubles as an emergency shelter. Eric takes pride to ensuring the best fire protection services for the community and is honored to work alongside the outstanding volunteering firemen.

In addition to his contributions to the fire district, Eric has been a vital part of the Danville Area Community College's NJCAA DII Men's National Basketball Tournament for the past 17 years. As one of the scorebook keepers, he volunteers his time each year to help make the tournament a success. The event, which requires around 300 volunteers, brings teams and visitors from across the country to Danville, boosting the local economy by several million dollars annually. Eric's commitment to his community is evident in his dedication to both the fire district and the basketball tournament.

Congratulations, Eric!
