Volunteer Spotlight Featuring Esmeralda Tarchenski

Esmeralda Tarchenski

Living the Busey promise in her community, Esmeralda Tarchenski, Vice President | Compliance Officer, is being recognized as Busey’s Volunteer of the Month.

Esmeralda’s passion for helping others and running has inspired her to volunteer as a coach for Girls on the Run – NW IL for the last four years and become a member of the running group, The Hillstriders Club, for the last two years. As a Girls on the Run coach, Esmeralda has the privilege of empowering youth and helping them train for a 5K race in which they are celebrated for all they have accomplished. What keeps Esmeralda coming back to help coach year after year is the organization’s powerful message about the positive force within us all.

As a Hillstriders Club member, Esmeralda helped set up the challenging yet exciting March Madness Half Marathon in Northern Illinois. The funds raised from this event makes it possible for the Hillstriders Club to award scholarships to three or more graduating seniors from a McHenry County high school. Esmeralda feels immense joy by being a part of such a wonderful and positive group of individuals that are participating solely for their love of running and creating opportunities for the youth. Esmeralda knows that being involved with these organizations has helped her to continue to be her best self and live up to her favorite quote, “We rise by lifting others”.

Congratulations, Esmeralda!
