Living the Busey promise in her community, Christina Koronakos, Officer – Service Center Manager, is being recognized as Busey’s Volunteer of the Month.
Christina plays a crucial role in creating a warm and supportive environment within Lurie’s Children’s Hospital. Christina began volunteering at the hospital due to her son’s rare diagnosis at birth. While Christina was at Lurie’s for the treatment of her son, she was also able to see other parents and children with various conditions trying to live out a normal life. She began to help by writing cards to the children during the holidays, bringing in magazines for the parents, and connecting families with proper support groups. As Christina’s son continues to receive treatment at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital, she dedicates her time and compassion to the children and parents, making a significant difference in their lives.In addition to her compassion to supporting families at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital, Christina’s strength remains steadfast through her son and through her faith. As an active member of Saints Anthanasios and John Greek Orthodox Church, she is heavily involved with various tasks within the church. Christina chooses to donate to her church throughout the year, help out during the holidays and even volunteers her time after mass on Sundays. Christina’s genuine kindness and unwavering commitment to helping others have made a significant impact, inspiring many whose paths cross with Christina.
